BlackRainbow is committed to creating safe, trusted environments for reporting and supporting those affected by serious and organised crime. While our core business is in investigative technology, our people and policies reflect a deep understanding of the human impact of crime.
Our approach to Social Value focuses on delivering impactful learning interventions through a combination of formal training, community outreach, and strategic partnerships. These initiatives are embedded in our operational culture and supported by contractual commitments that release staff to contribute their expertise to national policing and youth engagement.
Through our training contributions to the College of Policing, our staff help equip senior investigators with the skills to manage victim engagement sensitively and strategically. This includes modules on family liaison, trauma-informed communication, and media handling—ensuring that victims are supported with care and professionalism throughout the investigative process.
PIP 4 Training
Matt Bonner, Our Product Manager, plays a pivotal role in delivering high-level investigative training under the College of Policing’s PIP (Professionalising the Investigative Process) framework. His involvement spans:
PIP Level 3: Training Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) in major crime and serious organised crime. He commits to delivering at least two core modules annually.
PIP Level 4: Strategic management of complex crimes, including homicide, child sexual exploitation, and serious organised crime. Matt is one of only three subject matter experts nationally who consistently delivers this training, with over 360 officers trained over six years.
BlackRainbow supports Matt’s involvement by releasing him for four weeks annually, recognising the national demand for his expertise. This contribution is not financially motivated but driven by a commitment to improving investigative standards and outcomes across UK policing. The officers trained by Matt have gone on to lead some of the country’s most high-profile investigations, including the cases of Olivia Pratt-Korbel, Lucy Letby, and Sarah Everard.
Action for Youth
Stuart Blaik’s Youth Outreach and Crime Prevention Work
Stuart compliments Matt’s strategic training efforts by working at the grassroots level to prevent youth involvement in crime. His work includes:
Action4Youth’s Breakout Programme: A 12-week initiative targeting young people in pupil referral units or those at risk of gang involvement and knife crime. Stuart delivers in-person sessions in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, focusing on awareness, consequences, and prevention.
Inspiration Programme: Stuart shares real-life case studies to inspire young people to consider careers in public service and understand the depth of investigative work.
BlackRainbow supports Stuart’s efforts by formally including training release in his contract, allowing him to engage with vulnerable youth and contribute to crime prevention. His work is impactful, with direct interventions such as identifying weapons hidden by students, and emotionally powerful storytelling that resonates with young audiences.

Staff Wellbeing
Building Connection and Wellbeing at BlackRainbow
We are committed to creating a workplace where people feel supported, connected, and cared for, both inside and outside of work. We know that wellbeing isn’t one size fits all, it has multiple layers to it, that’s why we take a proactive approach by offering:
Employee assistance program: A confidential, 24/7/365 support service available to all employees—and in many cases, their immediate families. Whether you’re facing emotional challenges, need practical advice, or just want someone to talk to, the EAP is here to help. Delivered by trauma trained counsellors focused on solving an immediate and identifiable problems, enabling our staff to return to their daily routines quicker.
Team meet ups and social events: We know that wellbeing isn’t just about individual support, it’s also about feeling connected as a team, valued and feeling part of something bigger. To foster this, we regularly host Team meet ups and social events, designed to strengthen relationships, boost company morale and create a fun space outside of work. From escape rooms and murder mystery nights to creative workshops and informal catch ups, these activities are all about bringing the team together, encouraging collaboration and supporting mental wellbeing through shared experiences.
BlackRainbow have sponsored the England Police Rugby Union Football Club (EPRUFC) for the 2024/25 season. We are proud to align with a team that shares our values of professionalism, discipline, and success.
This partnership marks a significant step for BlackRainbow as we extend our support to a team whose commitment to excellence on and off the field is truly inspiring. EPRUFC represents the best of both sport and service, bringing together law enforcement professionals who embody teamwork, resilience, and a relentless drive for success. These qualities resonate deeply with our own mission, making this sponsorship a natural fit.
Our sponsorship reflects BlackRainbow’s broader commitment to supporting organisations that strive to make a difference, both in their industries and in their communities. As EPRUFC continues to reach new heights on the rugby field, we’re thrilled to play a part in their journey, providing support as they work towards even greater achievements in the 2024/25 season.
Dragon Boats
In August 2021, BlackRainbow sponsored ‘Dragon on the Deben’. This cause addresses the stresses of the outside world and bringing people together in these trying times, all whilst supporting The Teenage Cancer trust and St Margarets Hospice.
We adopted both NIMBUS and PHANEROS Dragonboats to support and give back to this wonderful cause.
“"NIMBUS will become THE investigation platform that is tried and trusted by investigators from across the world and across all different types of cases."”
